What is the difference between type test and routine test of motor?

Routine test – all the transformers in the production lot are subjected to these tests. These tests are mainly done to know the operational performance of the equipment. Type test- only one or two transformer in the production lot will be undergoing type tests.

What is type test?

Conformance testing — an element of conformity assessment, and also known as compliance testing, or type testing — is testing or other activities that determine whether a process, product, or service complies with the requirements of a specification, technical standard, contract, or regulation.

What do you mean by routine test of transformer?

A Routine test of transformer is mainly for confirming operational performance of individual unit in a production lot. Routine tests are carried out on every unit manufactured. All transformers are subjected to the following Routine tests: Insulation resistance Test. Winding resistance Test.

What is Type Test in motor?

Motor testing assesses the integrity of a motor through the use of computer-supported equipment or tools that monitor trends within the motor. The main objective of motor testing is to reveal hidden problems and prevent unnecessary failure.

What is Type Test in electrical?

Type testing essentially means running a typical design of switchboard through a series of tests; and then future boards that are built to the same or very similar design can be considered to comply with the same requirements and if tested in the same way would also pass.

Which is not a routine test on transformer?

1. Which of the following is not a routine test for transformers? Explanation: Impedance test is done on a transformer in order to check net impedance offered by a transformer circuit at rated supply. Polarity test is also done before SC and OC test on transformer.

What is Type test in electrical?

What is routine test of motor?

The purpose of the test in the motor routine testing is to calculate power factor, starting current and starting torque. The test is done on the locked rotor condition. The starting current might be high, and the test normally is done at lower voltage and result of the test extrapolated to the rated voltage.

What is the purpose of routine test?

The purpose of routine tests is to evaluate several safety parameters which the manufacturing process could affect. E.g. wiring-related issues, warning labels, core transformers, and insulation.

Why is type test required?

Type tests are generally performed on any equipment conforming to relevant National/ International standards to validate the design and to demonstrate its functional requirement meeting the intended application and reliable performance during its service life.

Which of the following is not a type test?

Statement testing is not a test type. Database testing, security testing, and functional testing are the types of tests, but the statement test is not.

What are the different types of transformer testing?

The transformer testing methods are broadly divided into two based on where the test is conducted. Some of the tests are done at the factory during the manufacturing process. Other tests are done at the site at the time of the transformer installation. The routine tests are performed on all transformers.

What is transformer ratio test?

So transformer ratio test is an essential type test of transformer. This test also performed as routine test of transformer. So for ensuring proper performance of electrical power transformer, voltage and turn ratio test of transformer one of the vital tests.

What is the purpose of winding test of transformer?

It is carried out as a type test as well as routine test. It is also done at site to ensure healthiness of a transformer that is to check loose connections, broken strands of conductor, high contact resistance in tap changers, high voltage leads and bushings etc. There are different methods for measuring of the transformer winding, likewise:

How to prove that the transformer meets customer’s specifications?

To prove that the transformer meets customer’s specifications and design expectations, the transformer has to go through different testing procedures in manufacturer premises. Some transformer tests are carried out for confirming the basic design expectation of that transformer.
