What is the function of AKM?

An apogee kick motor (AKM) is a rocket motor that is regularly employed on artificial satellites to provide the final impulse to change the trajectory from the transfer orbit into its final (most commonly circular) orbit.

What is the damage of AK-47?

For instance, if an AK-47 round with a 7.62mm diameter at its widest point passes cleanly through a target, it will leave a round, 7.62mm permanent cavity. If this hole goes through a vital structure in the body, the wound can be fatal.

Why is the AKM so reliable?

Essentially, the AKM is built with huge margins of error in mind. It has huge amounts of extra space, extra length, extra gas diversion everywhere that means it can put up with a tremendous amount of gunk inside it before failing. It’s not a precision engineered, waterproof weapon.

Why is AK-47 reliable?

The rifle was designed to be easy to use, easy to repair, and reliable. The ruggedness of the gun makes it the perfect weapon for dirty, sandy conditions or for soldiers who might not be super disciplined about maintaining their firearms. Its simple firing mechanism means that the gun jams very rarely.

Why did they replace the AK 47 with the AKM?

Designers replaced the AK-47’s solid-wood stock and handgrip with less expensive and sturdier plywood in the AKM. (This model, however, has solid wood.) Guns with folding metal stocks, better for tight spaces, were made for airborne and armored-vehicle troops.

What are the advantages of the AKM?

The AKM’s stamped sheet-metal receiver simplified production and reduced the rifle’s weight to about 8 pounds. The integrated gas piston and bolt carrier’s parts were designed to fit loosely in the receiver, making the mechanism less susceptible to the effects of carbon buildup, rust and dirt—and thus less prone to jamming.

What is the trigger group on an AK-47?

The AK-47’s trigger group borrows from the designs of American infantry rifle maker John C. Garand, who created the M1, and German gun maker Hugo Schmeisser, a Soviet prisoner at the time the original AK-47 was devised. The rifle’s receiver anchors the integrated gas piston and the trigger group.

Can I order an AK 47 over the phone?

Please note: we no longer accept orders over the phone. Need an AK 47 schematic to keep your replacement project on track or looking to replace a specific part?
