Is there a bond in IBM GBS for associate system engineer?

Yes you have a bond of 1 year when you join IBM GBS as an associate system engineer. You will sign this bond on the first day of your joining. I dnt remember the amount but it was somewhere 1–2 Lakh.

What is the process after joining IBM?

After joining IBM, within 18 days of your training, you have to pass a assessment that is called as Foundation Technical Training Module, in which you will get questions from SQL, RDBMS, SDLC and Testing. Level of questions will be basic but yet you can go through these.

There are four different career paths to senior leadership in GBS, and IBM Canada 1 has outlined only one of them. The road is well documented and available to anyone who wants it. I recommend you leverage getting a mentor and ask your BPM to sign up for Bee School. Many of my colleagues are 25, 35, 45 years with GBS.

What is it like to work at IBM?

Training at IBM is mediocre and it lasts hardly 2months for most of the domains (except some SAP domains) including softskills and some fast track learning (almost nothing is done here). Training is stress free unlike Infosys. 85\% of the time you will get a project before you finish your training.
