What is the need of CPG message in ISUP protocol telecommunications?

– CPG message is sent by the switch towards originator. – When the switch receives the setup, the call is forwarded. – When the message is sent it is signaled that the call is progress.

What is CPG in ISUP?

The Call Progress message (CPG) is sent in either direction during the set-up or active phase of the call, indicating that an event, which is of significance, and should be relayed to the originating or terminating access, has occurred.

What is ACM in SS7?

The SIP to SS7 Interworking object gives the user the ability to manipulate the interworking of the ACM (Address Complete Message) and the CPG (Call Progress Message).

What is ACM message?

A destination node sends the ACM to indicate that a complete CdPN has been received. When enbloc signaling is used to set up the call, the ACM is sent after receiving the IAM; when overlap signaling is used, it is sent after the last SAM is received.

An ACM message is sent in certain situations to indicate that the call is in progress in order to satisfy ISUP timers, rather than to signify that the callee is being alerted.
