As per IS 456: 2000 in slab as per clause 26.5. 2.1, for mild steel (Fe250), minimum reinforcement shall be 0.15 percent of total cross sectional area (B×D) and for High yield strength reinforcement HYSD/Fe 415/Fe500 and above, minimum reinforcement are used around 0.12\% of total cross sectional area (B×D).
