What is the purpose of Kriya Yoga?

By recharging the blood and cells with life energy that has been distilled from breath and reinforced with the pure spiritualized life force in the spine and brain, the Kriya Yogi stops bodily decay, thereby quieting the breath and heart by rendering their purifying actions unnecessary.

What happens during Kriya Yoga initiation?

In the beginning of the twenty-sixth chapter of his autobiography (later changed by the SRF organization) Yogananda wrote about Kriya: “The actual technique must be learned from a Kriyaban or Kriya Yogi.” So one Kriyaban can teach another, though it is hoped that the teacher will really be able to worthily guide the taught.

What is the difference between karma and Kriya?

Kriya is when you have the control to perform actions only with your energy. The principles of kriya are contrasting to karma. Karma takes into account an action that is performed by including the mind and the body. Both actions can be kriya at one point and karma on the other.
