What is the starting post of an PCS officer?

The PCS officers had to go through various promotions to get promoted as an IAS officer. If you are under UPPCS, then the starting post will be of SDM that is level-10, and it will take five promotions to be an IAS officer. They have to get promoted to level 11, level 12, level 13, level 13A and level 14.

A DM is an officer rank in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). SDM is promoted to the post of DM after 5 to 6 years of their service in the post of SDM. A DM is responsible for many responsibilities within the district. A DM has greater powers than SDM.
