What score do you need for AIME?

Qualifying for AIME: Typically scores of 115+ will qualify for AIME, but these vary by year and exam. On the AMC 12A and 12B at least the top 5\% qualify for the AIME. Typically scores of 100+ will qualify for AIME, but these vary by year and exam.

What is a good score in AMC10?

High scores on the AMC 10 or 12 can qualify the participant for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME). On the AMC 10, the top 2.5\% make it, typically around 100 to 115 points. On the AMC 12, the top 5\% make it, typically around 85 to 95 points.

The AMC 12 is a 25 question, 75 minute multiple choice examination in secondary school mathematics containing problems which can be understood and solved with pre-calculus concepts.

What percentage of AMC students qualify to take the AIME?

Approximately the top 2.5\% of AMC 10 students and top 5\% of AMC 12 students qualify to take the American Invitation Mathematics Examination (AIME). Starting in 2011, the qualification parameters will be slightly relaxed for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME).

What is the AMC 12 cut off for the AIME?

For students taking the 2012 AMC 12, we will invite students in the top 5\% of all scorers or scorers with at least 100 points to the AIME. However, beginning with the 2017 contests, they no longer use the 120 point/100 point guaranteed cutoffs and only use the percentage.

What is the AIME exam?

The AIME (American Invitational Mathematics Examination) is an intermediate examination between the AMC 10 or AMC 12 and the USAMO. All students who took the AMC 12 and achieved a score of 100 or more out of a possible 150 or were in the top 5\% are invited to take the AIME.
