What size tires and rims do I need?

For sports cars, the general rule of thumb is to match the wheel width to the tread width in inches. For example a tire size 285/35-19 has a tread width of 9.9″. The ideal wheel width would be 10.0″ for that tire.

What size tires will fit my ATV?

Is rim size same as tire size?

Wheels and tires are not interchangeable words. For instance, your vehicle has a set size of rims, but you can buy different sizes of tires to fit those rims, as long as the middle of the tires is the correct size. That being said, a vehicle with bigger rims will often be able to fit larger tires than other vehicles.

How do you measure rim width?

Luckily, measuring rim width is pretty simple to do! Just take a ruler, yardstick or tape measure and measure the distance from bead seat to bead seat. The rim width is also included in the wheel size, which you can find stamped on the back of the wheel, or in your owner’s manual.
