What type of wiring is Romex?

Romex™ is a common type of residential wiring that is categorized by the National Electrical Code (NEC) as underground feeder (UF) or non-metallic sheathed cable (NM and NMC). NM and NMC conductors are composed of two or more insulated conductors contained in a non-metallic sheath.

Is Romex the same as Thhn?

THHN is a heat resistant thermoplastic insulated conductor, usually a single conductor. Romex is a brand name for a nonmetallic sheathed cable, it has multiple conductors inside, the insulated ones are insulated with THHN insulation.

Is Romex aluminum or copper?
