What is no art?

art is a radical avant-garde anti-art movement started in New York in 1959. Its founders sought to deliver a shock to the complacent consumerist society around them. The movement was initiated by Boris Lurie, Sam Goodman and Stanley Fisher who had come together to organise exhibitions at the March Gallery.

Is there art without the artist?

Artists and poets are of course essential for this process – you can’t have art without an artist. But simply being an artist is not enough to ensure that ‘truth happens’ in the way Heidegger hopes. Artists are convenors for art – their ‘greatness’ is incidental, entirely dependent on what they produce.

What would life be without art?

A life without art is in reality not a life at all. We all need art in our lives, and we’d be lying by denying it. Art, in its many forms, is a necessity of life. It is beneath the building structure of anything and everything. A life and a world without art would be quiet and dull.

Can art exist without an audience?

Yes, art can exist without an audience. Many artists create their work just for the joy of creating. If someone else enjoys their work, that’s a bonus.
