When did TalkTalk take over AOL?

By 2005, TalkTalk had 2.5 million customers following the acquisitions of the UK subsidiaries of Tele2 for £11.5 million and One.Tel for £169.6 million. Carphone Warehouse purchased the UK ISP business of AOL in October 2006 for £370m and renamed it AOL Broadband.

Are AOL and TalkTalk the same company?

AOL Broadband was a UK internet service provider and part of the TalkTalk Group.

Can I keep my AOL email address if I leave TalkTalk?

Yes, yes you can. AOL email is not connected to your ISP, so it doesn’t matter if you leave AOL Broadband and go to another provider or you move countries, you can take your AOL email with you.

In 2015, 2.1 million people were still using AOL’s dial-up service. That revenue stream has dried up.

TalkTalk also announced that prices will start rising by 3.7\% plus inflation (consumer prices index) every April from 2022 onwards, bringing it into line with rivals.

Can I keep my email address if I leave TalkTalk? You can still access your TalkTalk email account for 12 months after you switch, during which you can still send and receive messages but won’t be able to use the ‘My Account’ feature to change passwords and actively manage the account.
