When should Amo order be placed?

An AMO is a type of order which is placed by the investor when the market session is closed. This order gets placed on the exchange at the opening of the next market session. Note: Timing to place an AMO is between 5:00 pm and 9:00 am for NSE, NFO and Currency segments.

Which is better pre market order or AMO?

Placing a pre-market order has a better chance of being executed than an AMO. But placing an AMO is more convenient as you can place it anytime between 3:45 PM to 8:57 AM for NSE & 3:45 PM to 8:59 AM for BSE and not wait for the pre-market timings.

At what price Amo orders are executed?

Using the previous example, if it is a buy order and is placed at +/-5\% and the share price opens at Rs. 105 on Tuesday, your order is executed at Rs. 105. After Market Orders can also be placed through the Call & Trade facility.

Which order gets executed first AMO or pre market order?

As pre market orders get executed before 9:08 AM and after market orders are executed after 9:15 AM. And volume is quite low in the stocks which are in lower circuit or upper circuit, it is always beneficial to place pre market order.

Can Amo be place for intraday?

You can place orders for the next trading day using the AMO feature on Kite. This is especially helpful for people who can’t actively track the markets during the live session – 9:15 am to 3:30 pm. AMO orders are allowed for all product types (CNC/MIS/NRML) except for CO.

How does AMO orders work?

AMO is an advance order that allows traders to place buy/sell orders after regular market hours. In other words, an AMO is similar to a normal order with the exception that it is placed after regular market hours….After Market Order.

How Amo orders are processed?

AMO Order Time * If MCX AMO order is placed during the market hours the order will go through the next day at 9 AM. AMO’s can be placed in all the market segments including Equity, F&O, Currency, and commodity. The Commodity AMO placed during the day will get executed the next day.

Can I sell at the open price in Amo?

There is no guarantee of being able to sell at the open price. You can place an AMO market order that will be sent to the pre-open session. If the order isn’t filled, it’ll be carried into the regular market time (9.15) and converted to a market order. You can do this using the SL order type.

What are the trading hours for Amo and after market orders?

For currency derivatives, AMO is allowed from 3.45 PM the previous day to 8:59 AM only. After-market orders are also allowed for commodity trading. After-market orders for commodity can be placed anytime during the day, orders will be sent to the exchange at 9:00 AM (MCX opening).

What is Amo and how does it work?

AMO refers to the facility using which you can place orders to buy or sell stocks for the next day’s trading before commencement of trading. This is useful for people who are unable to monitor the market at opening or during the trading session. AMO will not allow you to buy or sell stocks after market hours.

What is the best time to place an order in Amo?

You can place your order anytime before market opens. You can place limit, market and SL orders. AMO for equity cash will be placed at 9 am while for fno it will be placed at 9:15am.
