Where does the arrow rest go on a bow?
Right Hand Arrow Rest: You will place the arrow on the left side of the bow , hold the bow with your left hand and draw back the string with your right hand. Left Hand Arrow Rest: You will place the arrow on the right side of the bow , hold the bow with your right hand and draw back the string with your left hand.

Do you need an arrow rest for a recurve bow?
A recurve bow does not need an arrow rest as it’s perfectly acceptable to shoot off the shelf. However, even if shooting off the shelf it’s recommended to use a “shelf rest” which protects the wood on your bow. There are however some advantages to using other types of rests.
