Where should AIO fans be intake or exhaust?

Case airflow and your CPU Both work just fine. To prioritize the GPU cooling, you’d place the CPU AIO on top of the case as an exhaust. This will make the CPU slightly warmer, but your GPU will stay cooler.

Should my CPU fan be intake or exhaust?

Generally, you want the case fans in front of the case drawing in air while the fans at the rear blow air out. If your case has vents at the top, they should be placed as exhaust fans because hot air will rise. Side-mounted fans should be used for intake, though they often don’t have air filters.

Where do you put AIO fans?

One good mounting position is to mount the radiator of the cooler at the frontal area of the case interior. The side of the radiator where the tubes connect should be at the bottom, and the pump should be mounted in a position where it is slightly lower than the top of the radiator, where air is captured.

Which way is intake fan?

Look at the fan blades Blades curving away from you? That’s the intake side. If the fan blades look rounded—that is, they’re curving away from you—that’s the intake side. (For the more technical out there: The convex side of the fan blades is the intake side.)

How can you tell the difference between an intake fan and an exhaust fan?

There should be arrows embossed in the fan’s frame or printed on a sticker that indicates the direction of air flow and the direction that the fan blades spin. It is you who decides whether or not the fan is used as an intake fan or an exhaust fan based on which way you mount the fan onto the computer case.

Which way do intake fans go?

When mounting case fans, air flows across the open side towards the side with the protective grille, like so: So the open side of the fan should face outside the case for intake fans on the front or the bottom, and it should face inside the case for fans on the rear or top.

Which way do PC fans spin?

Most computer fans flow front-to-back (←), and spin counter-clockwise. The crossbars and the wires are usually located on the back of the fan (the exhaust side). Another quick test you can use is this: if you can see the whole blade, that’s the intake side.

Which way should fan face for intake?

Can I put an AIO on top of my CPU?

People who put an AiO on top will have it as exhaust. You can use an AiO as intake or exhaust, but having it as an intake at the front would give lower CPU temps. Make sure you filter the intakes too, and avoid putting intakes at the top of a case because heat rises, dust falls, and top intakes are not usually filtered.

What is the best way to use an AIO cooler?

Quick tip with AIO coolers: Use them in a pull configuration blowing them out of the case so you can clean the fins easily. A push orientation will force dust onto the fins and trap it. In terms of cooling the radiators (and therefore the CPU which is being cooled by the AIO), is there a big different between pull and push?

Can I use an AIO as an intake or exhaust?

You can use an AiO as intake or exhaust, but having it as an intake at the front would give lower CPU temps. Make sure you filter the intakes too, and avoid putting intakes at the top of a case because heat rises, dust falls, and top intakes are not usually filtered.

Where to position 240mm AIO with fan orientation?

Any insight on best positioning (and why) of 240mm AIO systems like this with fan orientation would be greatly appreciated. You can use an AIO as either an Intake or an Exhaust, when at the top of the case it is more often an exhaust.
