Which is better caf or AOSP?

CAF (Code Aurora Forums) based ROMs are much better. But AOSP (Android Open Source Project) ROMs have their own advantages. CAF ROMs are essentially AOSP, but are optimized for Qualcomm devices which makes them noticeably faster, smoother and have better RAM management.

We don’t use CAF as base, but we use CAF HALs for qualcomm devices.

Is custom ROM better than miui?

If you switch to a good custom rom(eg an AOSP based ROM) you’ll experience so much smoothness over MIUI. Device will seldom heat up and lag will disappear because there’ll be a lot less useless apps. Also you can try various kernals in the rom according to your preference(battery/performance/both).

What are the best CAF ROMs?

CAF ROMs are essentially AOSP, but are optimized for Qualcomm devices which makes them noticeably faster, smoother and have better RAM management. Examples of CAF ROMs are the legendary Paranoid Android, Reloaded CAF, Pixeldust CAF etc. The list of CAF ROMs isn’t that big as only few ROMs are CAF based.

Lineage OS, on the other hand, is a ‘modified’ AOSP ROM. You might have seen that some ROMs use AOSP as the base, while others use Lineage as the base. So what’s the primary difference between AOSP based ROMs and Lineage based ROMs?

What is the difference between Paranoid Android and CAF ROMs?

But Paranoid Android community follows a connoisseur, a reserve and mostly only focuses on OnePlus devices and similar high end phones. CAF ROMs however have far less features when compared to AOSP ROMs and are also sometimes a month or two (very rare) behind on security patches compared to AOSP and lineage which are up to date.
