Which is tougher IMO or IPhO?

How hard it is to make it — definitely, in the United States, it is much harder to make the IMO team just in terms of how many students know about it and compete. The order is (1) IMO, (2) IOI, (3) IPhO.

How tough is IMO Quora?

It’s not at all hard to find difficult as well as interesting problems out of so many proposals. Not all problems at IMO are hard though. Because IMO has reached so many countries, there is large variability among the contestants too.

The AIME is a highly difficult 15-question exam in which testers have 3 hours to complete. Typically, an index of 210 or higher is necessary to qualify, which combines your AMC Score + 10*AIME score. So if you have a 120 on the AMC and 10 on the AIME, that is enough to qualify for the USAMO.

Is the Mathematical Olympiad more prestigious than the IMO?

However, many experts suggest that Mathematical Olympiad is tougher comparatively (As far as the Indian scenario is concerned) therefore they believe getting selected to represent India in IMO is more prestigious . On the other hand, many physicians believe it’s the other way around.

Does the IMO test your ability to solve problems?

In particular, the IMO tests your ability to solve problems and use what you know in creative ways to solve problems rather than just test your ability to do math. That’s why every person who’s participated in the IMO tells you not to memorize equations and theorems.

Which is better IOM or IMO in maths?

IMO is better as IOM is a genral olympiad organized by sof so it has no importance but if you apply for IMO and qualify it so you will be an international mathematical champion but for IMO you have to apply for PRMO and if you reach till national level you will get Rs 5000 per month for your studies so in my opinion IMO is better.
