Group B (Non-Gazetted), formerly called Class II (Non-Gazetted) examples are – Assistant Section Officers in various ministries, Stenographers Grade ‘1’, Senior Pharmacists various different Health Departments Junior Engineers in different departments of Union and State Govts, Customs / GST Inspectors, etc.

Is Doctor a Group B gazetted officer?

Yes, any government doctor or for that matter any government official is a gazetted officer.

What is the difference between group A and group B gazetted officer?

The appointment of Group A officers is directly made by the president of India. However, an IAS officer starts as an SDM and achieve the position of Secretary to the Government of India. The salary of officers appointed in Group A is higher than Group B.

How can I become a Group B gazetted officer?

What is Group B officer?

Group – B (Gazetted Officers): The authority of a Group – B gazetted officer is similar to that of a Group A officer. Employees working in Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) and National Banks fall under the category along with office supervisors, state inspectors, office executives, state police officers etc.

What is Group A and Group B services?

Modern India The Group A officers are appointed by the President of India and appointments to Group B are made by the authorities specified by a general or special order of the President.

Is lawyer is a gazetted officer?

No. Lawyers are not Gazetted officers as they are not govt servants i.e. they are not recruited through any examination conducted by high Court or govt. In lower courts, Civil Judge(JD) and above are Gazetted Officers.
