Who is a BITSian?

BITSians’ Day is the celebration of that very bond we share. This day, proud-to-be-BITSians around the world don their BITS T-shirts to work, connect with BITS fellows in their workplace. They will also swarm social media, posting status messages with their BITS ID numbers and sharing nostalgic photos of their journey.

Why do companies prefer IITians?

IITians are insanely networked and work like one HIVE mind. This makes it very easy to setup the recruitment pipelines. In lower ranked institutes this gets a bit harder as you don’t have enough density of smart people in your class.

What is so special about IITians?

What makes IITs different from other institutions is that they pull our focus towards how we can apply what we have studied in the real world. The assignments encourage the technique of ‘brainstorming’ and there is a free sense of interaction between students and professors on the feasibility of projects.

Is BTech available in bits?

No. Bits offer B.E ( Hons ) instead of BTech . B.E ( Hons) degree. It is is a first professional undergraduate academic degree for a student after 3-5 of engineering degree completion from a recognised university.

During the placement season every year, our eyes pop at the exorbitant salaries offered to IIT and IIM graduates. Unfortunately, placements are primarily driven by the ‘high packages’. The truth is that most IITians get the salary as per the industry standards during the campus placements, he adds.

For civil engineering , a lot of people graduating from the IITs are inclined towards GATE, as this exam provides a Gateway to the major PSUs and a few central government organisations. People are more inclined towards ESE , and since the syllabus is more or less the same, so they take the GATE as well.

Which is better NIT or bits?

If you talk about value for money, NITs totally outstrip BITS. BITS is a private college, while NITs are government-run colleges. While you have to spend lakhs for your education in BITS, you can do the same with less than half that cost, with almost equal output, in NITs.

What does it feel like to be in a relationship with IITian?

This is what I exactly feel being in a relationship with an IITIAN and everything he does for me. He is very intelligent..really very intelligent. It is time once again to lay that old chestnut to rest. The specious claim that the IITs are better than some of the best universities in the world is beyond slack-jawed silliness. I am reminded of that by this tweet by my friend @KiranKS

The IITs turn out good students because those who get in are good to begin with. Then for four years, these way-above average kids compete fiercely among themselves for grades. Finally, from this bunch of super-achievers, those with the highest grades and potential are snapped up by the best American universities.

Are You in a distance relationship with an IITian?

And, yes, we are in a distance relationship but we meet, hangout, chat, enjoy together more than any other regular college couples as the distance never bothers him and 🙂 I too have a similar story <3 have an IITian as a boyfriend.
