Why are there no stars on a clear night?

The combination of all the streetlights, spotlights, and building lights work together to fade our night sky. The more light pollution there is, the less black the night appears – the sky will only darken to a gray – and the more light pollution, the fewer stars are visible.

What does it mean when the sky is clear at night?

At night cloud cover has the opposite effect. If skies are clear, heat emitted from the earth’s surface freely escapes into space, resulting in colder temperatures. However, if clouds are present, some of the heat emitted from the earth’s surface is trapped by the clouds and reemitted back towards the earth.

Of course light pollution is a major reason for few stars in a clear sky. However, I live in a city with heavy light pollution. However, I can still see Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and of course the Moon at any clear night. Bright constellations and stars like Orion, Gemini, Taurus, Cassiopeia, Sirius, Vega, Deneb, Altair and so on.

You must need following things to see stars in sky:- 1) Moonless night. 2) Cloudless night. 3) No light pollution. Most difficult now a days. You can check light pollution in your city thru this world map. If you are not able to see stars in sky and claiming sly clear how?
