Why Bar Council does not Recognise distance mode degrees?

Bar Council of India does not recognize correspondence course. Because Bar Council of India (which regulates lawyer’s profession) does not recognize any distance education degree for LLB, therefore, even if you managed to obtain one, you will not be able to practice in court with that degree.

Is Annamalai University LLB degree valid?

The Madras High Court prohibited Annamalai University from offering any law degree irrespective of the rider that those who pass out cannot enrol as advocates without adhering to the standards set by the Bar Council of India (BCI) in the Rules of Legal Education.

Furthermore, your legal expertise could also be used in NGOs. Most large corporations and government organizations hire legal advisors.

What is the difference between LLB general and LLB academic?

LLB is an undergraduate degree 3 year programme that aims to impart education in the field of law. The course is intended for graduates. Bachelor of General Law/Bachelor of Academic Law is an undergraduate distance learning course in the field of law. The course does not entitle you to practice in the court of law.

Is LLB from Open University recognized by Bar Council of India?

The Bar Council of India does not recognize BA LLB Correspondence, L.L.B Degree from Open University, or L.L.B. Degree by Distance mode and you will not be able to practice in Indian courts with L.L.B. degrees earned through distance learning. Can I do LLB through distance learning in India?

How to become an advocate in India with an LLB?

Online courses in law help you to learn new skills and advance your career. But the Bar Council of India doesn’t recognize online LLB courses, and you will need to purse a regular LLB course to practice as an advocate in India.

Should LLB students be allowed to practice law in distance mode?

But LLB is different (it is NOT linked to “short moment of time” rather “it has “LONGER DURATION- delayed justice”, hence LLB should be allowed in distance mode, but the legal practice in actual court can be allowed after gaining some experience, after LLB correspondence degree.
