Why did littlefinger try to turn Sansa against Arya?

Littlefinger wanted to regain Sansa’s trust, and wanted to isolate her from familial influences; Jon, as King in the North, was away. Littlefinger had no use for Arya, who is now an assassin who he has no personal interest in nor is someone he can control.

Why did Sansa and Arya kill Littlefinger?

Sansa exposed Littlefingers crimes in the Great Hall, in the presence of his peers, so that justice (by medieval standards) could be seen to be done. If Sansa had just told Arya to kill him in his room that would merely have been an assassination.

a) LF wanted the realm in chaos to rise to power and to do so he needed a war triggering event : Ned’s execution. He gave up Ned to the Lannisters so that they would reward him with titles and lands.
