Why do badminton players change shuttlecock?

In the game of Badminton you are allowed to change the deformed shuttle with the new one , but to do that you have to take the consent of referee/ umpire along with your opponent. A brand new shuttle with balanced feathers always provides better trajectory and faster movement if you compare the same with used shuttle.
