Why do we pray Salat al Ayat?

The signs prayer (Arabic: صلاة الآيات‎) is one of the optional prayers for Muslims. When solar or lunar eclipses, earthquakes, thunder has happened, Muslims have to pray salat al-Ayat and keep their calm. In Twelver Shia Islam, al-Ayat Prayers consists of two Rakats, and there are five Ruku in each.
