Why PCC is laid below footing?

Pcc is used as a leveling course and as lining for rich concrete used in footing. If PCC Is not provided below footing,cement slurry will be absorbed from fresh concrete by soil, making the concrete previous.

Is PCC required below plinth beam?

What is the difference between PCC and RCC?

Plain cement concrete (PCC) is simply concrete by definition. It is cement + water + fine aggregates + coarse aggregates. Reinforced cement concrete (RCC) is PCC + reinforcement. The reinforcement is generally steel bars bent and laid into the desired shape and orientation.

Is high grade concrete necessary for a PCC structure?

The PCC is used to form a Smooth finished layer to hold the Structural elements in proper level (same level) and helps in distributing the loads to the soil. So for this High grade concrete is not necessary. If you design a high grade concrete means it will impact on Cost factor.

How to prepare the finished surface of PCC?
