Why was And Then There Were None changed?

As Christie worked on the stage adaptation of And Then There Were None, she decided to change the ending to a ‘happier’ one where characters survive and fall in love, because as the play was being performed during World War II, she thought that the original ending would have been far too bleak.

What is the difference between the movie and book of And Then There Were None?

The film changes certain characters’ names and adheres to the ending of the stage play rather than that of the novel. Though its subject matter is dark, the screenplay injects considerable humor into the proceedings, lightening the tone of Christie’s grim book.

Is And Then There Were None suitable for kids?

I would say that it is suitable for most middle schoolers and up, depending on the maturity level of the kid. It didn’t scare me. The violence is almost not present, *SPOILER* the only time you as the reader are present in the story while it happens is when one character shoots another out of self preservation.

Why you should read And Then There Were None?

“And Then There Were None” fulfills the need for answers perfectly by the end. Throughout the book, the reader is full of questions and given a little, barely perceptible clue/ answers but by the end, Christie pulls it together in a casual way that answers everything without being completely outrageous.

Soldier Island is a fictional island that just so happens to be based off of a real place, Burgh Island on the South Devon coast. Not only does Burgh Island contain a suitably large mansion, but the whole place is cut off from the mainland at high tide, making for a rather foreboding setting.

Is and then there were none a good book?

And Then There Were None is one of my favorite novels of any genre, and was one of the first “grown-up” books I read as a kid. There have been many adaptations of it for the screen, from the solid but unspectacular 1945 black and white to the occasionally too- faithful Russian version to the absolutely dreadful 80s African safari.
