Will amp turn on without remote wire?

Amplifiers do not have to use the remote off of your deck. You can use any suitable power source. The only thing you want to make sure is that you find a source the turns off with your key otherwise you may end up draining the battery.

There are several ways to get your amplifier to turn on and off remotely even if your head unit does not have a remote turn on wire. The cheap and easy way is to run the amplifier’s remote terminal off of a switched accessory wire. This is the wire that your head unit uses.

If you have a head unit without an amp controller line, then simply use the wire that normally drives the power antenna. This will go to 12v when the unit is operated. Some head units switch off the power antenna signal when you use a CD, tape, MP3 or Aux source, but most don’t so the power antenna drive will work as an amp remote.
