Can I give A2 without as?

If it’s a straight A level, with all the exams in the one series (the linear model), then yes, you can. That’s the system now in use in England. If you are an International student or a student in Wales, doing the modular AS and A2 pattern, then no, you can’t.

Do as grades count towards A2?

AS levels can stand as a qualification on their own or can be carried on to A2 the next year to complete the full A level qualification.

Can you get an A in A2 If you get AB in as?

Technically, yes, as long as that subject is using the new A-Level System, where AS-Level and A-Level are two separate qualifications. As they are separate qualifications, not a single mark from your AS-Level exams will be brought forward into your A-Level marks, and therefore will not affect your grades either.

Is A2 easier than as?

A2 Levels are generally harder than AS Levels. Many A2 Level papers also test on the content covered in the AS papers. For example, business studies A2 exams require you to recall knowledge from AS business studies.

Do A levels expire?

English level A2 is the second level of English in the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), a definition of different language levels written by the Council of Europe. The official level descriptor in the CEFR is “elementary”, which means the same thing: it is the foundation.

To achieve the A*A*, you need to get AA overall and then get at least 90\% across all six of the A2 units. If you do not achieve A*A*, it is still possible to gain A*A. To achieve A*A, you need to get an A overall and then get at least 90\% across your best three A2 units.

Is A Level harder than IB?

The IB is considerably harder than A-levels. In the IB, students must study six subjects plus extras whereas with A-levels students study three subjects. With so much workload, it is no surprise that many students taking the IB end up with relatively low grades (24-30 points).

Can I take the A-Level exams without going to University?

Yes, you’ll need to find an exam centre which will let you do it though (ask your college?), and you’ll have to pay exam fees. Have you done any studying for A Levels? If not, your not going to be able to sit the exams in June, and then go off to uni.

Can my as marks be banked towards my final a-level grade?

While you will take exams for all your subjects at the end of your AS year, your AS marks can’t be banked towards your final A-level grade under the new system in England.

How many times can you take the a-level exam in a year?

Both AS and A2 Levels are designed to be year-long courses. You can sit for the exam two times each year. The first is in May/June, and the second is in October/November. Due to the school year structure, students in the southern hemisphere usually take the Oct/Nov series, and students in the northern hemisphere typically sit the May/June series.
