Can you be extraverted and introverted?

The continuum between introversion and extroversion captures one of the most important personality traits. These people (a.k.a., the vast majority of us) are called ambiverts, who have both introverted and extroverted tendencies.

Can introverts be mistaken for extroverts?

Most people are closer to the middle, which gives them qualities of both introversion and extroversion. If you think of yourself as an extroverted introvert, it probably means you’re an introvert at heart — but you may be more outgoing than other introverts because your personality is more middle-of-the-spectrum.

What is the difference between introverted Ti and extraverted Fe?

Introverted (Si, Ni, Ti, Fi) & Extraverted Functions (Se, Ne, Te, Fe) Introverted Thinking (Ti) is concerned with inner rationality and personal effectiveness. Its methods are more individualized and therefore less broadly applicable than those of Te. Extraverted Feeling (Fe) surveys a breadth of human feeling.

What are Fe and TE functions?

As extraverted functions, Fe and Te, used primarily by FJs and TJs, are oriented to shared or collective norms. Fe aligns itself with F norms like social customs, manners, gestures, etc. Its judgments also have a stronger interpersonal bent than those of Fi.

What is the difference between Fe and Ti?

When Fe is engaged, the face is animated and full of expression, as it seeks to connect with and influence others on an emotional level. But since Fe users also use Ti, they may alternate between appearing highly expressive (Fe) and showing no expression at all (Ti).

What is the difference between extroverted and introverted personality functions?

This distinction is fairly obvious and easy to understand. Extraverted (E) functions, by definition, are directed outwardly, while the introverted (I) functions are directed inwardly. Extraverted functions are more overtly expressed and readily observed. Introverted functions, in being largely concealed, are harder to discern from without.
