Can you recite Surah Fatiha when behind Imam in Salah?

In one of the Sahih Hadith, it is said that our prophet used to recite Surah Fatiha in every rakat of Salah. The second scholar said we should not recite Surah Al Fatiha behind the imam, it is said that the recitation of the Imam is also the recitation for the all the one who is reciting behind the Imam.

What is Istiftah?

It is reported while praying Salah it was the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) to silently recite a supplication in-between the takbeer e-tahrimah (inital allahu akbar to commence salah) and Surah Fatihah. These duas are known as dua al istiftah or the opening supplication.

How do you pray Janamah behind Imam?

The Imam leading the Janazah prayer will say the first takbir out loud (i.e. Allahu Akbar). Follow the Imam and raise your hands up to the ears or shoulders and then fold them. Placing the right hand over the left just like you would do in the normal five daily prayers.

Which Surah we should recite daily?

Surat Al-Baqara or chapter 2 of the Quran should be recited everyday as it helps protect you from Shayateen (companions of Satan). Also, during Fridays, make sure the first Surah you read is Surah Al-Kahf or chapter 18 of the Quran. As it will be important during the arrival of Dajjal or the Anti Christ.

Can one pray behind an imam who is reciting Al-Faatihah?

If the imam does not pause for a long time after reciting al-Faatihah, then the one who is praying behind him has to recite al-Faatihah, even if that is at the same time as the imam is reciting the other soorah, because this is what was the Prophet (blessing and peace of Allah be upon him) instructed his companions to do in Fajr prayer.
