Can you use Revit for estimating?

Revit can be used to develop a detailed construction cost estimate which includes soft costs, e.g. Labor Rate, Labor Hours, Overhead and Profit. We can even account for non-modeled items, such as rock removal and tower cranes.

Can Revit do quantity take off?

Add a schedule that provides details such as material type, quantity, and costs for the model. Click View tab Create panel Schedules drop-down Material Takeoff. In the New Material Takeoff dialog, click a category for the material takeoff schedule, and click OK.

How do you find quantity in Revit?

Create a Schedule or Quantity

  1. Click View tab Create panel Schedules drop-down Schedule/Quantities.
  2. In the New Schedule dialog, do the following: Select a component from the category list.
  3. In the Schedule Properties dialog, specify the schedule properties. Select Fields.
  4. Click OK.

How do you measure quantities in Revit?

Generate the building part data used for quantification.

  1. Click Quantification tab Buildingbook Extension (Calculate Building Part Quantities).
  2. In the Calculate Building Part Quantities dialog, select a calculation type.
  3. Be sure that you have selected the elements you need for your building part quantities calculation.

How do I only estimate what I want to estimate?
