Could Ace have become Pirate King?

In all honesty I don’t think Ace could ever become King of The Pirates. There are several reasons why. One, becoming King of the Pirates is Luffy’s dream and there is no way that Ace would have willing destroyed his brother’s hope like that. He’s too loyal and too close to Luffy to hurt him in such a way.
