Do we need computer for BCA?

The full form of BCA is Bachelors in Computer Application. BCA is a 3-year undergraduate degree programme that focusses on knowledge on the basics of computer application and software development. A BCA degree is considered to be at par with a BTech/BE degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.

Do I need a laptop for computer science?

No. A laptop is not necessary for you to study computer science. You will get access to computer equipment in the schools library and labs. Having a laptop will make it more convenient but is not a requirement.

You are not required to have a laptop. We would strongly recommend that you at least have access to a computer where you live. A tablet, or even a phone, can do some of what you need, but it cannot be your only computer. Most engineering software will not run on a tablet.

If you are a gamer and play powerful games then only you’ll need a graphics card depending on which game you play. Size: Last but not the least, Its not a recommendation but an advice.

What should I look for when buying a new laptop?

HDD/SSD: It completely depends on you how much data you store on your laptop. 500 GB (HDD) will be enough I think. Now a days laptops comes with HDD+SSD. SSD are way faster than HDD so if SSD is in your budget then get a laptop with SSD otherwise HDD is also fine. OS: Get latest Windows 10 OS.
