Does flashing firmware delete data?

Flashing a new ROM can swipe all the internal data on your device ( not everytime) but keeping the backup of your stock ROM and all the data in advanced is must so that after flashing the ROM you will not lose any of your data.

Does flashing Android firmware wipe data?

Actually, no. If you’re going stock to stock, it should NOT wipe data.

Can you flash a ROM without losing data?

To keep them you could use Migrate app and run a backup which creates a zip file which can be flashed along with the custom rom you decide to flash, or use the older methods like titanium backup. But I suggest use Migrate, they have been optimized for android 10.
