How do you ground a crystal radio?

The simplest counterpoise is to attach one side of the crystal radio coil to ground. This is how things like quarter wave vertical whip antennas work. If the signal is strong, you can use just a wire antenna and your body will act as the counterpoise as long as you are holding the crystal radio.
