How to Check Train Coach Position Online?

  1. Step 1 : Identify the Train No. Identify the Train No to which you would like to check the Train Coach position.
  2. Step 2: Enter the Train Number.
  3. Step 3: Click on Search Button or Press Enter Key.
  4. Step 4 : Coach Position / Train Bogie Position Result.

How are trains numbered in India?

Number 1 – long-distance trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Sampark Kranti, Garib Rath, Duronto, etc. Number 2 – also for long-distance trains; but these are used when train numbers starting with 1 are exhausted in any series. Number 3 – Kolkata suburban trains. Number 5 – passenger trains with conventional coaches.

How many bogies are in a train in India?

Generally, the wagons in one rake can be from 40 to 58 maximum based on the length of the boxes. Hence, a goods train can have 58 wagons and passenger train can have only 24 coaches.

How up and down of train is decided?

You must know that the Up and Down numberings of trains depends on the operating zones and not on the direction in which the train travels. Down refers to a train departing from zonal/ divisional headquarters i.e., the home railway, while Up refers to a train travelling to its zonal/divisional headquarters.

How train bogies are connected?

Each wheel is separately connected to the bogie by a swing-arm axle. There is dual suspension: Primary suspension via a coil spring and damper mounted on each axle. Secondary suspension via two air springs mounted on the pivot plank, this is connected to the bogie by pendulum links.

What size bogies are used in Indian Railways?

Passenger coaches in Indian Railways have adopted lightweight bogies with axle loads of up to 17 metric tonnes. Suburban trains are an exception, as they need to cater to super dense crush loads during peak hours – such trains use bogies of higher axle load capacities of 20.3 metric tonnes and operate at relatively slower speeds of 110km/h.

What is the meaning of “Bo-Bo” in Indian Railways?

Indian Railways has given a notation based on the wheel arrangements of diesel and electic locmotives “Bo” means A set of two independently powered axles on a bogie. “Co” means A set of three independently powered axles on same bogie. “Bo-Bo” means a loco with two bogies each have two separately powered axles.
