Is BMP-1 still in service?

The number of Type 86 IFVs and vehicles based on it is around 3,000. It is still in service with the People’s Liberation Army. From 1997, Iran produced its own modification of the BMP-1, the Boragh, which resembles the Chinese WZ 503.

The IFV integrates Berezhok (B05S011) guided weapon system. The vehicle can move at a maximum speed of 65km/h on road and 7km/h in water. The BMP-2M infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) is an upgraded version of the BMP-2 IFV. Designed and developed by Kurganmashzavod JSC, the IFV offers improved mobility and fire power for armed forces.
