Is FRT-15 legal?

Simply put, the company feels it can prove that the FRT-15 does not meet the legal definition of a machine gun in a court of law. While the trigger certainly enables a firearm to be fired quickly, RBT says it does so within the design parameters of a perfectly legal, semi-automatic trigger.

Are FRT triggers illegal?

A bump stock essentially allows the user to hold the trigger down and uses the gun’s own recoil to move the weapon itself forward and backward, firing a round each time it does so. The FRT-15 trigger does not do that. They are also not illegal anymore.

Can you modify a transferable machine gun?

Yes,as long as you do not alter or attempt to change the receiver of the firearm as that is what they consider the actual gun according to the ATF.

Have a clean record: Before buying a fully-automatic weapon, a person must pay a $200-dollar tax and register an application with the federal government. That means filling out a 12-page application, submitting fingerprints, and sending photos to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

What does transferable machine gun mean?

The last category is Transferable Machine guns which are guns that were not imported after 1968 and registered with the federal government before May 19, 1986. Anyone who is 21 years of age and can legally purchase a Title 1 gun can own a transferable machine gun. Well those are the three categories of machine guns.

How does the FRT-15 trigger work?

The FRT-15 uses a newly designed hammer that, as it is cocked by the bolt carrier, forces the trigger forward to the reset, along with the shooter’s finger, as the bolt moves forward to chamber the next round. A locking bar prevents the trigger from being pressed again until the bolt cycle is complete.
