Is Graysexual a sexuality?

Graysexuality — sometimes spelled “greysexuality” and also known as gray asexuality, gray-a, gray-ace, or grey-ace — is a term to describe people who identify as asexual but don’t fit into the main types of asexuality.

What is an asexual aromantic called?

“Queerplatonic relationships,” a term coined by the aromantic and asexual community, refers to close relationships that aren’t necessarily romantic or sexual.

What does it mean to be a gray asexual?

Gray Asexual. Gray asexual (sometimes shortened to gray ace or gray a) describes a person who is somewhere between being asexual and allosexual. They might only experience sexual attraction on very rare occasions, feel sexual attraction but not desire sexual relationships, or experience a feeling somewhere in between platonic and sexual.

Is demisexuality under the gray asexual umbrella?

However, some demisexuals consider demisexuality to be under the gray asexual umbrella because it involves feeling sexual attraction in specific circumstances. Some demisexuals also relate to other definitions of gray asexuality, such as finding experiences of sexual attraction confusing or hard to pin down.

Are You a grey ace or A demisexual?

If you identify with being grey ace, your sexual desire isn’t tied to emotional attachment, unlike demisexuality. Masturbating and hooking up may be easier if you’re a grey ace, but not if you’re demisexual.

What is the difference between asexuality and demisexuality?

Asexuality is the complete lack of sexual desire. For some people, sexual desire is not a basic human need (sorry, Freud). Whereas demisexuals can, and might, feel sexual desire. They don’t lack a sex drive, they just don’t tend to experience sexual desire without an emotional bond.
