What are real life examples in ToK?

Real-life examples/situations (RLS) are examples that you can find in the real world to support your claims. Generally, you would be using a few key ideas from the RLS to show how your chosen claim is valid.

How do I choose a topic for a ToK presentation?

The topic should be presented as a question that is not easily answered with a Yes/No statement. In other words, the goal is not to find answers but to evoke more questions before you can get the answer. They usually start with “to what extent …” and invoke one or more WOK or AOK. The topic should be a debatable one.

How many claims do you need for ToK presentation?

Talk about your second AOK/WOK and make a second claim (with an example if possible) and then provide a counter claim. You can include 2-4 claims, depending on how long your presentation has to be. If you’re doing it alone, 2 claims are sufficient but you may need to have 4 if you’re doing it in a group of 3.
