What does it mean when a dog is APRI registered?

America’s Pet Registry, Inc. (APRI) registers dogs from other legitimate registries that keep a database of purebred dogs and offer pedigrees on dogs registered with them. Your dog will be registered with both registries and have registration privileges with both APRI and the originating registry.

What is the difference between AKC and APRI registration?

It seems that the main difference between the two is that AKC is recognized nationally where as APRI is only recognized in the US. Both are dog registries that hold their own dog shows.

Does AKC recognize Apri?

NO. Both parents MUST be FULL registered AKC registered. APRI is a puppy mill registry. So is ACA,CKC(Continental not Canadian) all these are PUPPY MILL REGISTRIES.

How do you get a merle dog?

The merle pattern is produced when a dog has a single copy of the M< allele. All merle dogs have the genotype Mm — meaning they have one allele for merle and one allele for non-merle.

Merle is actually a heterozygote of an incompletely dominant gene. If two such dogs are mated, on the average one quarter of the puppies will be “double merles”, which is the common term for dogs homozygous for merle, and a high percentage of these double merle puppies could have eye defects and/or be deaf.

Is there such a thing as a mini schnauzer poodle mix?

The Mini Schnauzer and the Poodle do not carry the Merle gene in its history.
