What is film faced plywood?

Film faced plywood is an exterior plywood used in building and construction projects. It has a special film coating on its surface made from phenol or melamine on either or both sides which gives the plywood a higher resistance to moisture, abrasion, chemical degradation and fungal attack compared to ordinary plywood.

Will glue stick to form ply?

Form ply is HDO and it’s not a good idea to use in a boat. This is because the resin paper applied, is designed to shed whatever is stuck to it. Not much will stick to this stuff, such as paint, glues, adhesives, epoxy, sheathing, etc.

How is marine plywood made?

Just like ordinary plywood, marine plywood consists of thin sheets of wood veneers. The sheets are placed perpendicularly to make the boards stronger. The cross lamination technique is employed in order to arrange the plies perpendicular to each other and add more strength in both directions.
