What is the hardest Eagle-required merit badge?

Communication (Most Difficult Eagle-Required Badge) Overview: I’ve always said that Communication is one of the hardest merit badges for most scouts to complete.

Scoutmasters and other leaders may not approve merit badges, unless they are also registered as a merit badge counselor for that particular merit badge.

Can an assistant scoutmaster do a board of review?

The Scoutmaster and assistant Scoutmasters are not members of the board of review. Because of the importance of this board, the decision to accept an Eagle candidate must be unanimous. If not unanimous, the board may be reconvened at a later date for a second determination.

What happens to Eagle Scout responses after a Board of Review?

Once a review has been held, or an appeal process conducted, responses shall be returned to the council, where they will be destroyed after the Eagle Scout credentials are released or the appeal is concluded. Eagle Scout Boards of Review in the New Birth of Freedom Council are held at the District level.

Can a scout be rejected for Board of Review with incomplete uniform?

It is preferred a Scout be in full field uniform for any board of review. He should wear as much of it as he owns, and it should be as correct as possible, with the badges worn properly. If you scout only has incomplete uniform and he presented himself in that with the proper badges he cannot be rejected.

When do I need to register for Eagle Scout rank?

A candidate must be registered through the time he is completing requirements but need not be registered thereafter or when his board of review is conducted. The Scout must complete the official Eagle Scout Rank Application, No.512-728.
