Where does the army send you after basic training?

How long is AIT? Advanced Individual Training(AIT) ranges from 4 to 52 weeks depending on a Soldier’s MOS. After graduating from basic training, Soldiers will go to AIT where they will complete Phase IV and Phase V before joining their unit.

Can you have your phone at Fort Sill?

Do Soldiers get their phones during basic training?

There are no cell phones allowed in Basic Training. This is a consistent rule for all of the military branches: Do not expect your service member to be able to call you, text you, or receive your messages when they are in Basic Training. The Army will allow some cell phone use during AIT, which is after Basic Training.

Can you quit Army after basic training?

After you arrive at boot camp, your fate still isn’t sealed. Even though you’re now on active duty, Army command can let you go without penalty during your first 180 days of service. The official term for this is entry-level separation. Boot camp is the best time because the Army has just started training you.

Should an emergency arise, the best means of notifying your Soldier is through your local American Red Cross at 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767) or www.redcross.org. Once contacted, your local area field office will contact the Lawton-Fort Sill, OK field office, who will in turn, contact us.

Where can I stay when visiting Fort Sill?

Soldiers accompanied by dependent family members, or staff sergeant (E6) or above must check with on-post lodging, ran by IHG, building 5676, Ferguson St., 877-711-8326. If no rooms are available, you will receive a statement of non-availability allowing you to use off-post lodging in the Lawton/Fort Sill area.
