Which is better MIS or accounting?

If you expect to be a database administrator, MIS major will be a better choice than accounting. In MIS you will have database management systems course. To improve your skills in database, however, you should not simply rely on the course.

    Minor in MIS if you can but you can always learn on the job or take PD courses after. It is unfortunate that they don’t allow you to double major. I have an Accounting and General Business degree. I believe both have various opportunities. However, don’t limit yourself to working for the big 4.

    But if the big 4 is what you want then an accounting degree is what you should seek. You can do audit, tax, analysis, etc which is what you learn while pursuing an accounting degree. I have done internal audit, financial accounting, and now business analyst – having an accounting degree gives you a lot of flexibility in any industry.
