Why did Hulk use the Infinity Gauntlet?

Professor Hulk chose to wield the Infinity Gauntlet because he was smart enough to do so, more durable than anyone else in the Avengers, and was believed to have some sort of resistance to the gamma radiation of the Infinity Stones.

Why didnt Thor snap instead of Hulk?
