Why is home economics an important subject for high schools?

Home economic classes would help teens develop skills in family financing, nutrition, cooking and other various skills for life. Not only does home economics teach students about cooking and safety but it also builds responsibility. It teaches teens to use the techniques they learned in class in their home life.
