Why is there no sound coming from my receiver?

Make sure the input devices are playing audio. Make sure the VOLUME or MASTER VOLUME knob of your AV Receiver is not set to VOL MIN. Make sure headphones aren’t connected to your receiver or input device. Press the SPEAKERS button on your receiver and select a setting other than OFF SPEAKERS.

Why does my home radio have power but no sound?

The most likely issue is an improper connection. If you have speaker connections and switch settings for A vs B speakers, make sure the speakers are plugged into the right jacks/connectors for the switch settings (this has caught me more than once). If you have a headphone jack, check for sound there.

Restart the Device. One of the common methods to fix it when your Android speakers are not working is to reboot your device. If there are apps or other utilities causing interference with your phone’s speakers, turning your phone off and then back on should fix most of those issues.
